Computation + Journalism Symposium 2020 — Student Contest
Student Contest
C+J is looking for submissions from college-level, student-run news sites. Students with winning entries (max of two students per school) will get free flight and accommodations at the conference.
We are looking for data visualizations that do an excellent job of telling a story. The data vis should have been posted between Sept. 1, 2018, and Dec. 13 this year. Students must still be in school. One posting per school; submissions close Dec. 13.
The form for submissions is here.
A panel of judges will pick winners from three school sites. The winners will be announced on or before Jan. 15. Judges include Alberto Cairo, the Knight Chair in Visual Journalism at the School of Communication of the University of Miami, Maggie Mulvihill, journalism professor at Boston University, and Matt Carroll, journalism professor at Northeastern University.
The event is sponsored by Northeastern University and Boston University.
